In the lead up to the Christmas break the Taboo team has been incredibly busy this November. Izzy and Eloise were lucky enough to attend couple of networking events in the Adelaide start up scene. Eloise also had an interview with a PHD student from Adelaide University, which was very cool!
There was also a meeting with Black Sheep Advertising about our 2021 advertising and marketing plans. Super exciting. We also have a volunteer helping us with some user friendliness testing on the website, which is going to be extremely helpful heading into the busy Christmas period.
In November Izzy and Eloise started doing interstate school presentations via zoom due to Covid. Isn’t technology amazing at keeping us all connected. We were also able to organise a last minute online Zoom presentation for an Adelaide school that was impacted by recent lockdown restrictions in SA.
The TABOO team launched their Christmas Hamper campaign this month, which allows our customers to build their own personalised hampers for loved ones (or themselves). We got to partner with some amazing local SA businesses that we love for this project. It’s incredible when small businesses can band together and find ways to support each other.
Any Other Business:
The uni students in our team have been busy studying and finally finished their exams for 2021.
The TABOO team had a meeting with another retailer. Stay tuned for more on this in the new year, and keep your fingers crossed for us!
And finally the TABOO team celebrated their partnership with Vinnies Women’s Crisis Centre by hosting a Vinnies afternoon tea in which the team all came dressed in outfits bought from Vinnies stores around SA. It was amazing to see the girls all put together some really cool looks that reflected their individual personality. If you hadn’t figured it out, we’re big fans of thrift shopping at TABOO hq. Not only is it a sustainable and ethical way to purchase clothing and avoid fast fashion but you can also find some unique pieces that no one else will have.
