May Business Update

May rounds out another incredibly busy month for the TABOO team, with all hands on deck super busy for another month. However busy is good and we’re super excited to share with you some very exciting news in the weeks to come.

This month, Eloise spoke at South Start Adelaide event about the opportunity for social enterprises for our future. Kristina Alford hosted a dynamic, challenging and exciting panel conversation, featuring Eloise These women discussed the complexities of the past, the excitement of the now and the hope they have for the future. The eradication of period poverty, and opportunities for social enterprises to blossom was absolutely a hot topic.

Izzy was invited by the Youth Affairs Council of SA and the Department of Human Services to speak at SA Youth Week 2021. This year’s theme was ‘Our Voice, Our Future’ and Izzy covered period poverty, period stigma and shame, our role as young people and how we can all use our voices. You can watch Izzy’s speech here. We hope that Izzy’s words spark change and that they give you the courage to use your voice.

Eloise and Isobel were invited to speak at the Women at Cowell Clarke soirée at Sparkke on Whitmore square. TABOO was so grateful for the generosity of all the attendants and raffle donors, with the raffle raising a huge $5,000 for our charity partner OneGirl. We are incredibly thankful for the team at Cowell & Clarke who offer their time and skills to TABOO so generously. Not only are they powerhouse lawyers, they also host a fabulous soirée! (Our team had far too much fun) Thank you Sparkke for being such an awesome venue with such important values and messaging. We are so grateful to work alongside such inspiring groups and women!
