It has certainly been a while since you received an update on how the business is tracking, boos. But we’re back to let you know that the monthly newsletter and regular blog posts are here to stay, with consistency, thanks to none other than me, Ali, the newest Taboo team member. You may have seen my mug on the Taboo Insta a couple of weeks ago. But mine is not the only new face around the traps, no sir. Enter the fabulous Max, our new intern who will be helping Taboo with our social media strategy and marketing. Max is studying a Bachelor of Media, majoring in marketing, at the University of Adelaide and will be joining us in the second half of the year. He comes to us fresh from an internship with Adelaide Enterprise and we couldn’t be more excited to see what ideas he has for Taboo. Speaking of fabulously helpful individuals, we also have CAS girls Sophie Coventry and Nellie Shute helping out with a bit of everything. You many have received your Taboo stickers in the post recently inside an envelope hand written and sealed by one of these lovely ladies. We also have a student from Concordia who is creating a film about Taboo. Kate Johnson has been busy taking footage of Eloise and Izzy and making her own little piece of magic that we are excited to share with you when it’s all done!
But let’s get down to the nitty gritty and in the words of Rihanna and Calvin Harris “baby, this is what you came for”. The all-important product update! Izzy and Eloise have been busy sorting out the final costings for the product in order to bring YOU, our customers, a competitive price. So far the girls have contacted several manufacturers in Australia but have found that unfortunately all of them are booked up with other clients until 2023 or just don’t supply product to private labels. They are currently searching for a supplier closer to home, with New Zealand looking like a possibility. If any of you, our loyal followers, have any contacts within the industry please let us know! There is a manufacturer in Europe willing to take Taboo on at any time but we are still doing last minute research to ensure the most competitive price in the market. And a manufacturer closer to home would always be a better option!
On the merchandise front we have cool new caps that will make your little head look very snazzy and keep it safe from wind, rain and sun. We are also launching a t-shirt design competition in which your design could feature on our t-shirts. The rules are that the design has to be consistent with our branding, include the Taboo colours or the Taboo slogan ‘Bleeding Love’. It would also be great if the design somehow included the Taboo website or social media handle.
In the last month Izzy and Eloise have also been busy doing school presentations at Seymour, Cornerstone, a Business Teachers Association presentation and Wilderness School. The Taboo ladies are always keen to do more school presentations and get the word out there about women’s lack of access to sanitary products in Developing Countries and how we’re trying to change that! If you’d like to have Eloise and Izzy at your school, please get in touch.
Finally boos, you may have recently received your super cute little Taboo stickers in the mail, thanks to Sophie and Nellie. If you have, we want to see your gorgeous and attractive face in our messages on Insta. Send us pics of you with your Taboo stickers and we just might feature you on one of our Insta stories.
